Dont let anyone think
less of you because you are YOUNG. Be an example to all
believers in
what you teach, and the way you live, in your love, your faith,
in your purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
The teenage years can be
challenging to navigate, both for students and their parents.
At Central Presbyterian Church, our students are a vital part of
the life of the church.
Here, we provide a special place for our youth: a place to
believe;
a place to belong: and a place to become all that God wants them
to be.
Central's
Youth Ministry goal is to:
REACH
middle and high school students with the good news of Jesus
Christ
CONNECT them with other
Christians, to lead them to
GROW in their faith, and to
challenge their growth so they actively
LOVE
and SERVE
God with their whole lives.
We are
always interested in having our parents volunteer their time and
talent with our youth programs. Please contact Reverend Deb
Trimpe

REACHING
Our aim is to introduce students to Jesus Christ. In
addition to the students involved in our ministry, we are committed to reaching out to students who
are not connected to Jesus Christ or a church. We
always have an
available seat for someone
new.

GROWING
Sunday School
is offered from 9:40 to 10:40 am.
We are using the Student Life Bible Study series for the
2007-2008 year. The goals of Student Life are to teach
students the Bible, with an emphasis on making the
connection to their daily lives. We aim to Biblically
prepare students for life. In addition to our study, we share the highs and lows of the week
to stay connected with what's happening during the week.
Wednesday Evenings
begin with a church wide family dinner
at 5:45 pm. At 6:30 pm the Middler youth gather
in Room 106 and the Senior High youth gather in
Room 105. They study the Bible using interactive,
experiential videos, dramas, and discussion formats.
Confirmation class
for 7th graders
Confirmation is the time in a
student's life when he or she has the opportunity to claim
the faith that someone first introduced to them. For many of
us, its a chance to make the vows for ourselves that our
parents made on our behalf when we were very young. As
students come to a point of professing faith in Jesus
Christ, they can become full members of the church family.
Traditionally offered for the 7th grade student,
Confirmation is open to any student in Middle or Senior High
.

CONNECTING
We have a
lot of fun together and enjoy strong relationships. Youth
leaders build strong bonds with our students and are
encouraged to support students' activities and interests in
their schools and communities.
Retreats provide the youth
opportunities to get away from the busy-ness of everyday
life and enjoy experiences that are only possible in
retreat-like settings. An annual highlight is the Montreat
Youth Summer Conference in North Carolina.
Special Events throughout the
year give students the chance to hangout together. Students
enjoy "hanging out" with each other and we want to give them
opportunities to do do so with other students who are
seeking to grow in a relationship with Jesus. Whether
it 's
a wild and crazy lock-in at the church, a weekend at the
lake, a ski trip to North Carolina. or a UGA athletic event,
we enjoy being together.
