Worship

The nursery is staffed during all regularly scheduled church services on Sunday mornings and during many special services that are scheduled during the year. A safe and loving environment is provided for children newborn - 3 years.

Worship at Central Presbyterian Church is a vital experience of praise, prayer, and preaching the Gospel. There are two worship services every Sunday. Our Contemporary Worship service at 8:40 a.m. and our Traditional Worship service at 11:00 a.m.

What does it mean to have two different styles of worship service in a congregation? It means we are working to reach as many people as possible with the gospel. It means that Sunday School and Wednesday evening programs become even more important. For it will be at these times that people in the two services will meet, study, fellowship, and learn together. To have two services means we expand the opportunities for worship and growth.

The addition of a contemporary worship service gives us the opportunity to expand our outreach. It will give us two great worship experiences to offer to this congregation and this community. Our goal, in worship, is to create an environment in which people can experience the presence of God every time they worship. We ask that you pray with us that God will be present with us, as we gather to worship together. We invite all to attend this service at 8:40 a.m. each Sunday.

Additional worship opportunities are scheduled throughout the year (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Lent, Easter Holy Week, etc.)

Worship Aids for when you are with us!
We have hearing aids and large print Bibles available - just ask an usher. Easy access for those with mobility issues is available on the south side of the Sanctuary and at the porte cochere. We have handicapped parking spaces at both entrances.

Children are welcome in worship! Children’s bulletins are available each Sunday from the ushers and worship bags are available for active minds and hands. The bags include storybooks for children of all ages, a religious coloring book and crayons.

Communion
We celebrate Communion the first Sunday of each month and on special days during the Christian year, including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday. The Sacrament of Communion is open to all who claim Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Children's Church
Kidz Praize

Kidz Praize is an active
kid-style worship experience that allows children to worship and praise God on their level. The Contemporary Service has Kidz Praize immediately following the offering. Children may leave the service for their own Bible stories and activities.

During the 11:00 am worship service children attend the service until the conclusion of "Time for Children", then adjourn to Kid's Praize where they are divided into two separate age groups.

Wee Kidz Praize is for children ages 3 through 1st grade. Each Sunday Children will enjoy a Bible story and craft until the conclusion of worship. Meets in the Nursery wing.

Kidz Praize is for 2nd through 5th graders. Children will have an opportunity to participate in a kid-style worship experience where they will lead their very own worship service which include music, Scripture Reading, Offering, Sermon and Prayer time. Meets in Kidz Space across from the kitchen (first floor).
